Panama City, Sept 12, (RHC).— Panama´s National Solidarity with Cuba Committee praised on Thursday the Cuban people´s dignity and sovereignty above any personal and material well being.

In a communiqué issued on Friday the solidarity organization called for the international community to follow Cuba´s footsteps in facing the devastation of Hurricanes Gustav and Ike which also seriously affected Haiti.

The text adds that “we learned from you (Cuban people) to prioritize the homeland and its history of struggle against imperialism, accustomed in dominating nations by means of hunger and natural catastrophes”.

The Panamanian solidarity group adds, that hurricanes can destroy homes, ceilings, towers and flood agricultural production but never destroy unity and solidarity demonstrated by Cuba.

That is why, states the document, “we are sure that there will always be Panamanians willing to offer anything for the health and wellbeing of the peoples from Cuba and Haiti.
